The VK2DJG blog

I (Gordon Smith) have held an unrestricted Australian amateur radio licence, VK2DJG, since 1980. Prior to that, from 1974, I was GM4DSZ, located in Aberdeen, Scotland, where I was almost exclusively to be found on 2m SSB and CW. My first amateur radio licence was a VHF-only licence, GM8IKT, issued in 1973.

I live near Armidale, in rural New South Wales, Australia with my wife Bronwyn (and two Border Collies) on 40 hectares (100 acres) of Australian bushland. The property is 1020m (3350 feet) above sea level giving pretty good take-off on VHF/UHF bands.
